For my contemporary hairstyle i created a fishtail plait that started from a side parting at the front of the head and plaited it so that it could be brought back into the bun. I french plaited the other side so that could be brought back as well. I sectioned off some hair behind the plaits before the bun and curled them to create pin curls. This was my first time trying pin curls and i don’t think it went very well. I didn’t really know where to pin so that it was hid in the hair. I then created a modern bun at the back of the head using a backcombing technique. 

I really didn’t like the overall design that i did. I think it looked awful. I had planned to do something different on my partners hair because she has really long hair, however she didn’t turn up for the lesson so i had to use a Kate head and the hair on that is very short, so i kind of just made up a design as i went along. The outcome wasn’t very good. 


However, because i made this mistake now i know that i will not try and do anything like this for my design as it just didn’t look good enough, so from this negative i have got a positive out of it and have got some other ideas as to what to do for my final designs.
