These are the images from the practice session i had with Philippa for her design. I think that the practice went well, however there are a few things that i would like to change/ practice again before the assessment.
- The plait at the front of the head was secured with just a pin into the bun. Next time i want to secure it with a clear elastic and then pin it into the bun so that the pin can be more hidden.
- The sectioning of the french plait, pieces of hair at the side and the buns need to be more precise and i need to take more time to make sure that the section lines are straight as this will make the overall look a lot cleaner.
I found the french plait at the front of the head harder than i expected because the hair there was extremely short as it had broken off due to dying the hair which i had to take into consideration before practicing the design. It was very fiddly to get all the pieces of hair into the plait and even at the same time.
The hair at the back of the head was thinner than i expected but backcombing helped a lot with volume to the buns and i think the buns turned out well.
I only got to have 1 practice on Philippa before the assessment as she didn't turn up to all the lessons where we had the opportunity to practice so i found myself not doing much in those lessons. I still hadn't received the design so i couldn't even practice on a kate head.
